There is no way to answer your question. By the time you speak of, London was the largest city in the world with over 3 million inhabitants, James was the second most popular name for males after John at the time, so asking us for info on a guy named James in London is rather like asking for information on a dark hair guy named Muhammed in the United Arab Emirates. There has to be something to base your research on and just a given name isn't enough, you are going to have to work backward with your parents to grandparents to great grandparents etc and track him down on your own.
