What other reasons could there be?

I'm glad you're asking this question Jeff as you know that the warming has been far from linear and it has certainly not followed the mive increases in CO2 output. However fundamentally this shows that you are starting to become more scientific and the best known scientists are/were sceptical of the consensus at the time.
