Why is my rhododendron still wilted after freeze?

Rhododendron is a very shallow rooted plant, it is also a broad leafed one, and therefore is more suseptible to frost. On the otherhand because of these attributes it is able to take greater advantage of the heat of the Sun's warmth. The ground is still very cold, and there is still a chill in the wind. It will perk up in April, when you will need to give it a feed of special rhododendron compounds, and the days will be longer and warmer.
